Product Quality & Documentation

Reference-grade materials are manufactured under controlled conditions with rigorous analytical verification at every stage. Each lot undergoes HPLC for purity quantification, mass spectrometry for molecular identity confirmation, and additional testing for sterility and residual solvents where applicable.

Our patent-pending lot tracking system ensures:

  • Every vial is labeled with a unique lot number printed directly on the label
  • That lot number corresponds to a current, dated Certificate of Analysis specific to that production batch
  • The same lot-specific purity percentage, quantity (mg), and analytical data appear on both the product page and the COA
  • Complete traceability from synthesis through final product delivery

This level of documentation ensures reproducibility across experiments and provides the analytical foundation required for rigorous research.

Each order includes comprehensive lot-specific documentation provided with shipment and accessible via the product page:

  • Certificate of Analysis (COA): Current, dated document listing purity percentage, molecular weight, appearance, and analytical methodology for the specific lot shipped
  • HPLC Chromatogram: Full chromatographic trace showing purity determination
  • Mass Spectrum: MS data confirming molecular identity
  • Safety Data Sheet (SDS): Hazard information and laboratory safety guidelines

All documentation is sealed in a protective envelope within the package. The lot number printed on the vial label matches the COA exactly, ensuring complete traceability.

Purity is quantified using HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) with UV detection at 214 nm or 220 nm, the industry-standard wavelengths for peptide bond absorption. The purity percentage represents the area under the main peak relative to all detected peaks in the chromatogram.

Purity values are reported as percentages (e.g., 98.3% by HPLC) and documented in the COA alongside the corresponding chromatogram. This transparency allows researchers to assess material quality and make informed decisions about experimental design.

Every lot is synthesized using standardized procedures and verified against defined acceptance criteria for purity (typically ≥95% by HPLC), identity (confirmed by mass spectrometry), and physical appearance. If a lot does not meet specifications, it is rejected and not released for distribution.

We maintain batch records documenting synthesis parameters, purification steps, and analytical results. Reference samples are retained for retrospective analysis if questions arise.

Ordering & Shipping

Orders are typically processed and shipped within 1-3 business days of payment confirmation, subject to product availability and successful verification. Transit time depends on shipping method selected:

  • First Class Mail: 3-5 business days (estimated)
  • Priority Mail: 2-3 business days (estimated)
  • Priority Mail Express: 1-2 business days (estimated)

Shipping timeframes are carrier estimates and not guaranteed. Processing may be delayed for verification, payment authorization review, or product availability issues.

No. We ONLY ship to addresses within the United States. U.S. territories are served case-by-case upon verification (currently Puerto Rico and Guam only; American Samoa not served).

We do not ship internationally, to freight forwarders, mail forwarding services, or APO/FPO/DPO addresses. Products may not be exported or re-exported outside the United States. Orders with international shipping addresses will be cancelled and refunded, less any processing fees.

All peptides are supplied as lyophilized powders in sealed glass vials labeled with product name, lot number, quantity (mg), and storage recommendations.

Packaging includes:

  • Individual vials wrapped in protective foam and/or bubble wrap to prevent breakage
  • Foil-lined or insulated mailers providing thermal protection from temperature extremes
  • Additional protective materials and cushioning as needed
  • All documentation (COA, packing slip) sealed in protective envelope

Temperature considerations: We do NOT offer temperature-controlled shipping, refrigerated shipping, or cold chain logistics (no ice packs, gel packs, or insulated coolers). Lyophilized peptides are stable at ambient shipping temperatures for short periods, which is standard practice for shipping research peptides in powder form.

Products are shipped at ambient temperature. Upon receipt, immediately transfer to appropriate storage conditions (-20°C or colder).

All products are shipped FOB Origin (Free on Board - Shipping Point). Title and risk of loss pass from Cosmic Peptides to you upon our delivery of products to the common carrier for shipment.

We are NOT responsible for:

  • Lost packages
  • Stolen packages (porch theft)
  • Packages damaged during carrier transit
  • Delivery delays caused by carrier, weather, or other events beyond our control
  • Packages left in unsecured locations by the carrier

A tracking number will be provided once your order ships. You are responsible for monitoring tracking and being available to receive the package. For high-value orders, consider requesting signature confirmation at checkout.

All sales are final. Due to the nature of research chemicals and regulatory requirements, we do not accept returns or exchanges except as required by law.

Damaged or defective products: If you receive a product damaged during shipment or materially defective, you must notify us within 72 hours of delivery with unaltered photographic or video evidence. Include photos of outer packaging, inner packaging, vials, and intact/broken seals. We will, at our sole discretion, replace the product or issue a refund.

Order cancellation: Orders may be cancelled up to 2 hours after placement OR before a tracking number has been generated, whichever occurs first. Once a tracking number is generated, the order cannot be cancelled.

Storage & Handling

Lyophilized peptides should be stored at -20°C or colder in original sealed vials until ready for use. For long-term storage (>6 months), -80°C is recommended.

Critical storage requirements:

  • Store in desiccated environment to prevent moisture absorption
  • Protect from light by keeping vials in original packaging or amber containers
  • Use freezers with continuous temperature monitoring and alarm systems
  • Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles which can cause aggregation or degradation
  • Document any temperature excursions and assess material suitability

Lot-specific storage recommendations are included in the COA and may vary based on peptide sequence.

When stored properly (lyophilized at -20°C), most peptides remain stable for 12-24 months from date of manufacture. Specific expiration or retest dates are provided on the COA for each lot.

Stability is influenced by peptide sequence—sequences containing methionine, tryptophan, or cysteine may be more prone to oxidation and have shorter shelf lives. Post-expiration, material should be retested or disposed of according to your laboratory's quality protocols.
