Poisons Standard

Australia's schedule of substances, which controls possession and supply of a named substance regardless of how it is labeled or sold.

Last reviewed · Editorial policy

The Standard for the Uniform Scheduling of Medicines and Poisons places individual substances in schedules adopted by state and territory law. Schedule 4 is prescription only. Appendix D lists Schedule 4 substances subject to additional controls, including those whose possession without authority is itself an offense.

BPC-157 is in Schedule 4 and Appendix D. A research-labeled vial of it in Australia is therefore a scheduled substance whatever the label says; the question is authority to possess it, not the intent of the seller. This makes Australia the one major system that regulates the research-peptide molecule directly rather than through the claims made for it.
